BLACK MOON RISING - A DIVINITY SOLO ACTUAL PLAY - EP. 2

In this one, Arianne reflects on her feelings and has a bad time about it. EPISODE 2  NOBLE TOMB, DIVINITY SPACE  Arianne and Dr. Farsad Ranjanapti stand before the husk of Ambition in a cavernous laboratory beneath the planet's icy surface. Ambition is making a full recovery, and they are refitting him with pieces of a new frame. Doctor Ranjanapti, a tall, lean man, is carefully studying data on a holopad reflecting Ambition's memories. He says that Ambition's performance on Deep Funeral was acceptable, before Major Blommas of the Mobile Defense Corps showed up.  Dr. Ranjanapti turns to me and says he doesn't think it's a good idea to take Ambition out again yet. He says he doesn't want either of us to end up in a worse situation than last time, but I don't believe that that's the whole reason. I wonder if he thinks I'm not capable. We were outgunned, what was I to do? Doctor Ranjanapti continues, however, that it's remarkable that we survived.

BLACK MOON RISING - A DIVINITY SOLO ACTUAL PLAY - EP. 1

In the first episode of this (probably short) solo campaign, a zealous machine and its pilot find themselves stranded on a strange moon.

RECIPES FOR THE MODERN MAGE

Wow, I am not very good at posting updates on my projects. I wrote a zine and now it’s available to download! I’m pretty satisfied with the way it turned out, and I'm probably going to write another... eventually. Recipes for the Modern Mage, Volume 1 , vibes pretty heavily with an imagined cooking-based RPG that I’m sure I’ll eventually get around to writing, at some point. I submitted this zine to the Lone Wolf TTRPG Jam, and it’s a pretty quick read. I’d like to think it’s useful and fun, too!  This zine is part cookbook, part spellbook, part adventure hook book that gives you several different recipes and spells you can bring to your table as an in-universe document. Your players are sure to be impressed by that kind of handout! Recipes for the Modern Mage, Volume 1 by Alex Meyer

TAKING THE FORMAT OF TV SHOWS FOR SOLO PLAY

Image
This is an idea that really relies on a certain kind of narrative structure, one where you’re fine with the concept of your game being like a show on television. One of the things I struggle with sometimes in my solo games is determining how exactly to break up play. Sometimes I can play for a few hours, sometimes I only have 15 minutes. It’s one of the greatest flexibilities of solo play, but I run into this issue where I have a long session followed by a short one, and I have no idea how I would share the short session in an ongoing actual play. It doesn’t lend itself well to the nice, detailed sessions I see on other people’s blogs.  In fact, I have a lot of APs that started out strong in the first session or two, and then I run into that problem. At the end of December, I shared one such session in a solo game of Electric Bastionland, but took it down because I was dissatisfied by how the second session didn’t complement the first, due to being fairly short. It makes it difficult,

IRON JAWBONE - A 24XX SOLO ACTUAL PLAY

This was my first session where I tried playing the 24XX system solo. Here is an actual play, set in the far future.

31/31 - ENDING THE CHARACTER CHALLENGE HERE

Well, I thought I would have the motivation to do this for a whole month, but I sure picked a bad month to do this challenge.  Between work and other personal responsibilities, I've been pretty stressed and I don't have the juice to keep up with this challenge. 20 characters, however, is a pretty solid number. I got about 2/3 of the way there, which is more than I was expecting that I'd be able to do. I figured that I'd go for a week and burn out, so I'm pretty satisfied with what I was able to accomplish. On top of the stress, writing a new character every day just stopped being fun, which kind of defeats the point. I'll be writing some different content soon, and I just recently started a solo game of Electric Bastionland. I may post the actual play here, but I'm not looking to take it too seriously.

31/31 - DAY 20 - SADIE, THERAPY DOG
